About the role

  • Payroll Administrator managing payroll for various employee groups across Canada. Ensuring timely processing and compliance with Canadian employment standards.

Responsibilities

  • Help ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for various employee groups (Hourly, Salaried, Day Rate, Union/non-union)
  • Validate and maintain employee master data in ADP for hires, changes, terminations, and transfers
  • Partner with HR on payroll-related matters
  • Capture time entries, create batches, and import data into ADP
  • Prepare, calculate, and process payroll, deductions, retro pay, adjustments, terminations, ROEs, and travel allowances
  • Audit and balance payroll registers for assigned pay groups
  • Generate and distribute pay period and monthly reports
  • Prepare union reporting and payment requisitions
  • Maintain strict compliance with payroll processes and audit trails
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and escalate HR-related questions appropriately
  • Support year-end reconciliation and reporting

Requirements

  • High school diploma (PCP designation = bonus points!)
  • 3 to 5+ years of payroll experience, ideally in a similar industry
  • Familiarity with ADP or other payroll systems - bonus points for Dayforce!
  • Solid Excel skills (intermediate to advanced)
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Standards across Canada
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and confidentiality champion
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual (English & French) strongly preferred.
