About the role

  • Business Development Analyst sourcing software acquisition opportunities for Embrace, an AI-driven vertical software company. Building executive relationships, managing Salesforce targets, and qualifying M&A opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Search for, identify, and contact owners or CEOs of software organizations to source acquisition opportunities
  • Leverage existing relationships and build new relationships with software-company decision makers, M&A advisors, and private equity/venture capital professionals in the United States
  • Initiate and maintain relationships
  • Deliver Embrace's value proposition
  • Leverage business development experience to provide best practices, coach, and lead others
  • Identify appropriate KPIs and maintain accountability
  • Perform market analysis to identify markets or industries for new platform acquisitions
  • Champion Salesforce CRM by managing, tracking, and monitoring target accounts
  • Set quarterly, monthly, and weekly targets for BD resources
  • Meet or exceed monthly business development targets and sourcing KPIs
  • Qualify acquisition opportunities at the top of the acquisition funnel
  • Work autonomously and with M&A leadership
  • Report to the Senior Manager of Business Development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a Canadian or U.S. university
  • 0–2 years of experience with a strong interest in software M&A
  • Basic understanding of financial terms and metrics, including Revenue, Churn/Attrition/GDR, COGS, opex, and ARR
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence and executive presence when speaking with CEOs, M&A advisors, corporate development, private equity and venture capital professionals
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work variable hours
  • Extraordinary work ethic, proactive approach, and sense of urgency
  • Prior sales experience of any kind is strongly preferred
  • Formal M&A or finance experience is not required
