About the role

  • Admin & Finance Coordinator managing receivables, credit-card reconciliation, deposits, and mail services. Supporting Food Banks Canada’s national network of over 5,500 food-related organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional accounting support to Food Banks Canada
  • Manage accounts receivable functions
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards and obtain monthly approval from the VP of Finance
  • Endorse cheques and make weekly bank deposits
  • Scan, organize, print, and file deposit documentation in SharePoint
  • Prepare and distribute weekly batches to the Development Team
  • Input approved revenue data into Business Central and cross-check it with Donor CRM
  • Download daily bank feeds and report suspicious corporate credit card transactions
  • Collect supporting documents for corporate card expenses, match them to purchase orders or authorizations, verify extensions, assign GL codes, and enter information into the accounting system
  • Apply HST/GST rebates and calculate applicable amounts
  • Maintain electronic filing systems and CRA-required supporting documents for at least 7 years
  • Ensure internal controls are followed and report deficiencies to the Finance Manager
  • Coordinate weekly mail collection with the lockbox service provider
  • Safeguard, scan, organize, and redirect mail appropriately
  • Assist with annual and special audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma program or equivalent in accounting
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in an accounting position for a business or NPO organization
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Clear, professional communicator
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
  • Working knowledge of Business Central and Mission CRM is an asset
  • Strong proofreading skills
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Must be located within 100/km of Greater Toronto Area, ON
