About the role

  • Technical Recruiter owning full-cycle hiring for Fiscal.ai’s engineering, AI, and data roles. Building technical talent pipelines for a financial data platform from Toronto.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end recruiting process for engineering, AI, machine learning, and data roles.
  • Proactively source top technical talent through LinkedIn, GitHub, referrals, communities, events, and your own network.
  • Write compelling outreach and job descriptions communicating Fiscal.ai's mission and technical challenges.
  • Conduct initial screens to assess technical background, motivation, and fit.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, interview plans, and evaluation criteria.
  • Coordinate and run interview loops, gather feedback, and drive timely hiring decisions.
  • Manage offers and closing conversations, including compensation and equity discussions.
  • Deliver an excellent candidate experience at every stage.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data in the applicant tracking system and report on recruiting metrics.
  • Build long-term talent pipelines and employer brand within engineering and AI communities.
  • Report directly to the CEO and CTO in a cross-functional capacity.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical recruiting experience, either in-house or at an agency.
  • A proven track record of sourcing and hiring software engineers and technical talent.
  • Strong sourcing skills, with comfort reaching passive candidates who are not actively looking.
  • Enough technical fluency to understand engineering and AI roles and hold credible conversations with candidates.
  • Experience managing multiple searches at once while maintaining speed and quality.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through.
  • Strong judgment in assessing candidates and a high bar for talent.
  • Ability to work from our Toronto office.
  • Experience recruiting AI, machine learning, or research talent.
  • Experience recruiting for a startup or high-growth company.
  • Experience recruiting in fintech, financial data, or capital markets.
  • An established network in the Toronto or New York engineering and AI communities.
  • Experience with modern recruiting tools such as Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, or LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Experience helping build recruiting processes, interview frameworks, or employer brand from the ground up.
