About the role
- Inside Channel Systems Engineer supporting Fortinet’s cybersecurity sales organization. Qualifying leads, leading technical sales calls, and resolving customer network security issues.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with an Inside Channel Sales Representative in a defined territory
- Support the sales organization in technical matters involving pre-sales, sales calls, and post-sales
- Assist in qualifying sales leads from a technical standpoint
- Serve as the main technical resource on sales calls
- Answer and educate customers and partners on features, specifications, functionality, and integration
- Act as the lead technical contact for identified accounts’ technical issues
- Collaborate with technical support and engineering to answer, escalate, and resolve customer technical issues
- Provide post-sales training to identified customers
Requirements
- 3 years’ experience in technical/pre-sales support as a sales or systems engineer
- 3 years’ experience in LAN/WAN/Internet services administration
- Solid understanding of DNS and NFS, SMTP, HTTP, and TCP/IP
- Knowledge of routing, switching, VPN, LAN, WAN, network security, intrusion detection, and antivirus technologies
- Understanding of RADIUS, PKI, IKE, certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, firewall, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, and 3DES
- Experience with encryption and authentication technologies
- Excellent presentation skills
- Required to customarily and regularly work outside the office or home office, including travel as needed to make a sale
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Graduate degree favorable
