About the role
- Automation Engineer building reliable internal workflow systems for a fast-moving eCommerce agency. Requires strong debugging skills across tools like OpenClaw, ClickUp, and Slack.
Responsibilities
- Build new automation workflows from defined specs
- Maintain and improve existing systems
- Debug scheduler issues, API failures, sync errors, missing data, and edge cases
- Create clean, deterministic logic that works reliably
- Improve workflow stability without overcomplicating the system
- Work directly with the Founder in a fast feedback loop
- Move quickly from problem → solution → working implementation
Requirements
- Strong experience with OpenClaw or similar automation / agent workflow systems
- Experience building custom scripts, schedulers, and API-based workflows
- Strong backend logic and debugging ability
- Comfort working across tools like Slack, ClickUp, and workflow platforms
- Ability to understand a system quickly and implement cleanly
- Clear, concise communication
- A strong ownership mindset
- Speed without sloppiness
- Practical judgment around when to use AI and when to use deterministic logic
