Payroll Specialist managing HEC’s payroll and benefits ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies. Supporting employee inquiries and contributing to total rewards program for Canadian healthcare.
Responsibilities
Manage HEC’s pan-Canadian payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable legislations.
Provide analytical and technical support for the development and implementation of a competitive total rewards program.
Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits.
Ensure the integrity of compensation practices, ensuring consistency and equity in the application of programs and policies.
Process full-cycle payroll for Canadian employees using ADP Workforce Now.
Liaise with People & Culture team to ensure the accuracy of data entry related to employee changes.
Calculate earnings and deductions corresponding to employee changes.
Validate payroll previews to ensure accuracy.
Administer year-end payroll activities and address payroll-related inquiries in a timely manner.
Continuously evaluate, suggest, and implement improvements to payroll processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, human resources, or a related discipline or equivalent knowledge and expertise is required.
National Payroll Institute certification, such as PCP or CPM is required.
Experience with ADP-Workforce Now payroll platform is required.
Minimum three (3) years’ experience overseeing payroll, benefits and compensation as a specialist or as part of a generalist role
Experience managing a pan-Canadian payroll (preferred).
Advanced computer software skills in Microsoft Office suite, and Excel in particular.
Bilingual in French and English is preferred (English communications at Advanced “C” level and French communications at Intermediate “B” level).
