About the role

  • Senior Unreal Programmer developing gameplay features for AAA games at High Voltage Software. Collaborating with designers and artists to enhance gameplay experiences and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with art and design to create and iterate on gameplay features
  • Use rapid prototyping while ensuring that strong architectural and algorithmic decisions are made
  • Write robust, understandable code and systems that are designed for long term use and maintenance.
  • Improve existing gameplay systems by diagnosing and fixing networking and gameplay issues.
  • Contribute ideas toward all aspects of the game’s production and development

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 5-8+ years of experience working with Unreal Engine (both in UE4 and UE5) in the gaming industry
  • Experience developing games professionally on PC and consoles with shipped titles
  • A keen analytical mind, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong C++ and Epic Blueprint skills and the ability to code and architect gameplay mechanics and tools
  • Strong math skills
  • Well versed in games and the ability to articulate what is strong/weak about the design of existing games (an interest in online games is preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently
  • Passion for video games
