Geotechnical / Civil Field Engineer supporting ongoing construction and geotechnical projects across Western Canada. Field-based with regular travel to project sites in Alberta and British Columbia.
Responsibilities
Perform on-site constructability reviews during construction activities.
Conduct field inspections and quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) activities for geotechnical and civil works.
Coordinate and oversee testing and verification of geotechnical systems and installations.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and design intent.
Prepare field reports, inspection records, testing documentation, and daily summaries.
Communicate directly with clients, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Identify field issues and assist in developing practical construction solutions.
Support project planning, execution, and close-out activities.
Participate in site meetings and provide technical support during construction.
Maintain a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in construction oversight, field engineering, geotechnical inspection, or related work.
Working knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and construction practices.
Experience performing QA/QC inspections and preparing field documentation.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently in remote and active construction environments.
Valid driver's licence and ability to travel extensively throughout project locations.
Physically capable of working in challenging outdoor environments and accessing construction sites.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration or eligibility for registration.
