About the role

  • Director leading Intercept’s platform and data analytics pods for its B2B technology marketing agency. Building client-facing martech, audience intelligence and compliant data offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Platforms pod, owning the roadmap, delivery and reliability of InterceptOS and PartnerOS
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to decide what gets built, bought or retired
  • Lead the Data & Analytics pod and own insights, data assets and context informing strategies and campaigns
  • Set standards for defensible client-facing insights
  • Turn data assets into commercial offerings
  • Work with clients and account teams to understand platform needs and create a prioritized PartnerOS roadmap
  • Identify, evaluate and acquire first-party and third-party data sources
  • Run vendor evaluations, assess data accuracy and negotiate workable commercial terms
  • Build the data offering by turning raw data into insights and context for strategy, creative and account teams
  • Own data governance and privacy, including collection, storage, use, retention and compliance
  • Set technical direction and make architecture and build-versus-buy decisions
  • Hire, onboard, develop and shape the Platforms and Data & Analytics teams
  • Report portfolio, progress, investment needs and risks across both pods and the data roadmap to the CTO and executive leadership team

Requirements

  • Six or more years in data and technology roles
  • At least three years leading teams, including hiring, performance conversations and development
  • Experience owning a platform or product end to end
  • Hands-on data background covering pipelines, warehousing, data modelling and SQL
  • Experience sourcing or licensing third-party data, including judging data quality and handling commercial terms
  • Working knowledge of privacy and data governance in a marketing context, specifically PIPEDA and CASL in Canada, and GDPR where campaigns reach the EU
  • Commercial judgment and ability to build business cases for data investments
  • B2B marketing or martech domain knowledge, including demand generation, ABM and campaign strategy
  • Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable working fully remote across a distributed team, with occasional travel for client and team meetings
