About the role

  • Senior manager shaping Jobber’s talent brand and employee communications. Building EVP campaigns, employee storytelling, and People-program communications for a small-business software company.

Responsibilities

  • Own how Jobber tells its people story externally to prospective talent and internally to employees
  • Evolve the talent brand strategy and translate the Employee Value Proposition into campaigns, stories, and candidate experiences
  • Work with Talent Attraction to create targeted approaches for priority audiences based on hiring priorities and talent market realities
  • Build an employee storytelling program across owned and paid channels
  • Set the editorial rhythm, channel strategy, and measurement approach
  • Own the People team communications strategy
  • Partner with the People team on communications for performance, compensation, benefits, engagement, learning, and employee lifecycle moments
  • Build proactive communications plans for significant changes and equip managers with context and tools
  • Establish communication standards, templates, and planning rhythms across the company
  • Define internal communications success metrics and improve content, timing, and channels using employee feedback and engagement
  • Develop a documented talent brand and internal communications strategy
  • Strengthen and consistently communicate a differentiated EVP to priority candidates
  • Operate a storytelling engine with an editorial calendar and regularly published work
  • Communicate major People programs end to end
  • Establish measurement baselines for talent brand and internal communications

Requirements

  • Deep experience with employer brand, people team communications, and marketing or corporate communications
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Experience building strategy from nothing and executing it independently
  • Credibility with senior stakeholders, including confidence to challenge a brief and recommend a different approach
  • Fluency in audience segmentation, channel strategy, and campaign development
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward building structure where none exists
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative insight to shape and evaluate the work
  • Experience communicating organizational change or People programs to employee audiences
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Successful completion of a background check, including identity verification
  • Based in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo
  • Able to attend the office at least 1 day per week according to the department schedule
