About the role

  • Art Director leading culturally relevant organic social content and campaign creative for Upstart’s AI lending marketplace. Directing photo and video production across fast-turn, platform-native work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead art direction for organic social content, ensuring cultural relevance, platform fluency, and brand consistency
  • Partner with Social leadership to concept and execute work from concept through final execution
  • Contribute craft and creative perspective to brand campaigns beyond social
  • Track cultural and platform trends and translate them into timely, on-brand creative
  • Balance high-volume fast-turn social work with occasional campaign-scale production
  • Direct on commercial and campaign sets or support senior creative leadership

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in art direction, design, or a related creative discipline
  • Experience creating organic social content, including trend-responsive and always-on creative
  • On-set production experience across photo or video
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Visual Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to concept directly with social or community teams
  • Knowledge of internet and social culture
  • Ability to balance fast-turn social work with larger-scale campaign production
  • In-house creative team or agency experience with understanding of in-house pace and priorities
  • Ability to use AI-assisted tools from ideation through execution
  • Collaboration with Compliance and external production partners
