About the role

  • Senior Data Analyst leveraging data to empower Canadian financial services. Transforming complex data into actionable intelligence and mentoring analysts at KOHO.

Responsibilities

  • Own large data domain(s): integrating data requirements into project planning, collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams, building pipelines and dashboards, coordinate with other data team members on team projects and preserving our data warehouse as the source of truth at KOHO
  • Design and optimize data models with a strong focus on performance, leveraging advanced DBT features independently
  • Develop dashboards that go beyond visualization to answer critical business questions and support strategic decision-making
  • Proactively identify trends and opportunities through deep data analysis, thinking beyond immediate requests to uncover additional relevant insights
  • Partner with stakeholders to refine requirements, offering data-driven recommendations that align with business priorities and maximize impact
  • Autonomously own project planning and participate in cross functional domain ownership
  • Mentor team members and contribute to establishing best practices within the data organization

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data roles
  • Can write, review and enhance SQL queries with a strong focus on code performance
  • Demonstrate advanced expertise in DBT, independently implementing complex features and understanding shared team pipelines
  • Strong version control skills with Git, efficiently analyzing code history and reviewing PRs for quality and performance
  • Strong data story teller: adapt communication to different audiences and clearly articulate recommendations that connect technical work to strategic business outcomes
  • Proactively identify work that should be prioritized based on business needs and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across domains
