Responsibilities
- Own large data domain(s): integrating data requirements into project planning, collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams, building pipelines and dashboards, coordinate with other data team members on team projects and preserving our data warehouse as the source of truth at KOHO
- Design and optimize data models with a strong focus on performance, leveraging advanced DBT features independently
- Develop dashboards that go beyond visualization to answer critical business questions and support strategic decision-making
- Proactively identify trends and opportunities through deep data analysis, thinking beyond immediate requests to uncover additional relevant insights
- Partner with stakeholders to refine requirements, offering data-driven recommendations that align with business priorities and maximize impact
- Autonomously own project planning and participate in cross functional domain ownership
- Mentor team members and contribute to establishing best practices within the data organization
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data roles
- Can write, review and enhance SQL queries with a strong focus on code performance
- Demonstrate advanced expertise in DBT, independently implementing complex features and understanding shared team pipelines
- Strong version control skills with Git, efficiently analyzing code history and reviewing PRs for quality and performance
- Strong data story teller: adapt communication to different audiences and clearly articulate recommendations that connect technical work to strategic business outcomes
- Proactively identify work that should be prioritized based on business needs and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across domains
