About the role

  • Heavy Equipment Apprentice Field Service Technician with Liebherr-Canada Ltd. Providing hands-on experience and training in the heavy equipment industry.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company health, environment and safety policies
  • Attend classroom training as required and complete a recognized apprenticeship framework to a high standard
  • Ensure and maintain the health, safety and welfare of themselves and others in the workplace
  • Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled
  • Study and remain current on relative Liebherr products/manuals
  • Ensure all documentation is completed as required
  • Follow a set rotation and training plan in the workplace
  • Prepare heavy equipment or essential responsibilities for repair
  • Identify and order parts to complete repair
  • Cleaning of equipment pre- and post- repair
  • Carry out repairs, modifications, rebuilds, servicing, maintenance on a range of heavy equipment
  • Maintaining the workshop and customer areas and keeping inventory areas well-organized
  • Carry out diagnosis of faults and carry out remedial work
  • Any other task or project as required to suit business needs

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician program and working towards a Red Seal.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, component exchange, repair and warranty related activities
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
  • You are able to effectively communicate detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • You are self-motivated with the ability to work alone, unsupervised for extended periods of time
  • Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite
