About the role

  • Bilingual Business Development Specialist at McCarthy Tétrault, focus on client engagement and market strategies. Responsibilities include marketing plans and supporting business development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic support and recommendations for the development of marketing, business development, and client plans for various practice groups, sector groups, market groups, and strategic issue groups
  • Contribute to the execution of go-to-market strategies and targeted initiatives
  • Lead and/or support the execution of business development initiatives, including sponsorships, conferences, directory and awards submissions, creation and updating of marketing materials, and related tasks as needed
  • In collaboration with Research, Client Service & Innovation (CSI), and Finance, compile and analyze competitive and commercial intelligence reports to support practice groups, industry groups, and client teams in their business development efforts
  • Assist lawyers and the Clients & Markets team in responding to client requests for firm information, including capability documents, fact sheets, and lists of matters
  • Regularly identify and submit significant matters to the Transactions and Mandates team for use in pitch materials, rankings, the website, award applications, and marketing collateral
  • Track business development and marketing activities and information in various databases, including Salesforce
  • Contribute to our Net Promoter Score (NPS) program by collecting and recording important client feedback
  • Support the Marketing Solutions team by routing requests to the appropriate functional teams, facilitating updates to lawyer profiles, and providing other services as needed
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Bilingual in French and English (required)
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite; ability to quickly learn and leverage new technology solutions
  • Prior experience with Salesforce and SharePoint (an asset)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a systematic and logical manner with strong attention to detail
  • Professional maturity, interpersonal skills, tact, and discretion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
