About the role
- Commercial Project Manager overseeing forecasts, cash, costs, and profitability for Nordex, a global onshore wind energy company. Supporting delivery of clean power plants.
Responsibilities
- Act as the single point of contact for the Project financial profile and performance
- Track and explain revenue, cost, and margin changes throughout project execution, from initial to final forecast
- Maintain and administer the Project Report, including forecasts, actuals, risks, and opportunities
- Track and analyze project costs and revenue recognition for accuracy against project execution progress
- Prepare monthly forecast proposals for the Project Manager and Cost Owners
- Work with the Project Manager to understand cost impacts and influence project profitability
- Track and explain monthly forecast changes
- Understand and communicate project risks and opportunities
- Plan, invoice, and timely collect customer cash in coordination with the Project Manager
- Process project guarantees and payment securities and ensure their timely return or release
- Act as Cost Owner for commercial and financial project cost items and interface between Finance and the Project Team
- Consolidate, analyze, and report Project CM and its historical development, including exposure from risks and opportunities
- Use contingencies and provisions to support stable CM development
- Analyze actuals and purchase orders to estimate cost to complete with Cost Owners and the Project Manager
- Review, challenge, and approve project figures before submission
- Coordinate with accounting for accurate and efficient reporting
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- BS in Accounting/Finance required
- MBA strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of business finance experience, with emphasis on financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting
- Ability to successfully complete all Canadian regulatory laws surrounding pre-employment screening requirements
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada; no immigration sponsorship is available
- Valid passport and ability to travel to the United States for occasional business trips
- Fluency in English and French is mandatory
- Spanish and/or German is a plus
- Full, valid driver’s license and insurability under Nordex’s auto policy required
- Ability to pass periodic driver’s abstract checks
- Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures
- Compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
- Proper use of applicable safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure a safe working environment
- Fluent English to communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members
