About the role

  • Quality Coordinator ensuring quality and compliance on PCL Construction Management projects in Edmonton. Conducting inspections, testing, documentation, and QA/QC coordination with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review prime contract and subcontract details for specifications and requirements
  • Conduct quality activities aligned with project scope and contract terms and conditions
  • Review project specifications and identify quality requirements
  • Perform visual examinations, witness and monitor activities, and document work according to project quality and Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs)
  • Observe installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and determine the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
  • Produce and/or collect quality turnover documentation
  • Liaise with craft and staff personnel to provide technical assistance
  • Verify trade contractor compliance with quality programs and contract documents
  • Plan and coordinate daily QA/QC activities with construction activities
  • Assist with planning and documentation of mock-ups
  • Work with field management to protect finished work
  • Stay current with industry practices and technologies and seek innovative construction methods and processes
  • Develop and maintain customer-focused relationships with stakeholders

Requirements

  • Tradesperson or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline
  • 2–5 years of experience in quality control in the construction industry
  • Knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), NCRs, and quality documentation requirements
  • Experience with field inspections, testing, and verification activities
  • General knowledge of the construction industry, including specifications, methods, and procedures
  • Knowledge of concrete and asphalt materials, testing procedures, and acceptance criteria
  • Knowledge of construction industry codes
  • Planning, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer-focused relationships with stakeholders
