About the role
- Software Developer designing and maintaining internal applications for Really Great Reading. Collaborating on integrations and AI automation to enhance business efficiency while fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain internal applications, dashboards, reporting solutions, process automations, and administrative tools.
- Build scalable solutions that improve internal workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Gather requirements from stakeholders, recommend practical solutions, and deliver iterative improvements based on user feedback.
- Continuously improve existing applications to support evolving business needs.
- Build and maintain integrations between HubSpot, NetSuite, DealHub, Avalara, and Drupal-based sites and applications.
- Develop and support integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and related technologies.
- Ensure reliable data flows and system interoperability across business platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues while maintaining data integrity.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Gemini, or equivalent technologies to accelerate software development.
- Design, build, and maintain AI-powered agents and automations that enhance internal business processes.
- Evaluate opportunities to apply AI responsibly, balancing innovation with reliability, security, and data privacy.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development best practices.
- Collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into functional software solutions.
- Work independently in a fully remote environment while contributing effectively to team initiatives.
- Participate in continuous improvements to development practices, architecture, and internal tooling.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional experience in software development
- Experience designing and developing full-stack web applications and system integrations
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and building AI-powered agents or automations (Claude Code, Gemini, or equivalent)
- Experience integrating third-party systems using REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, or similar technologies
- Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and version control systems (Git)
- Ability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into practical technical solutions
- Strong written communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
