Responsibilities
- Daily, ongoing communication with the program manager or assistant program manager for new and existing projects
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the rare disease programs offered
- Coordinate cases with physicians and healthcare professionals to prepare submissions
- Coordinate and manage all aspects required to obtain prescription drug coverage for patients
- Navigate the complex process of securing coverage for prescription medications
- The Reimbursement Specialist may also be assigned other functions and duties as needed from time to time
Requirements
- University degree in a related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, insurance, or other healthcare-related sectors
- Prior experience in reimbursement and knowledge of public, private, and federal reimbursement processes is required
- Minimum of three (3) years of customer service experience, OR five (5) years or more of experience as a Senior Reimbursement Specialist
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Demonstrated ability to organize time, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with patients
