About the role
- Public Affairs Manager leading data analytics for government relations and advocacy at The Salvation Army in Canada. Ensuring impactful policy intelligence for executive decision-making across the Territory.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate policy research, legislative analysis, and issue monitoring
- Provide timely, evidence-based insights and maintain systems for horizon scanning
- Supervise and support Public Affairs Analysts
- Review and ensure the quality and accuracy of briefing notes, reports, presentations, and other analytical outputs
- Work with internal partners to support evidence-based messaging
- Monitor emerging policy, political, and reputational risks and provide early analysis and strategic advice
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in public policy, advocacy, research, or government-related roles
- At least 2 years’ experience managing staff, projects, or complex workstreams
- Strong knowledge of Canadian public policy and government processes
- Proven leadership, coaching, and collaboration skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technology for research, communication, and reporting; bilingual English/French considered an asset.
