About the role

  • Public Affairs Manager leading data analytics for government relations and advocacy at The Salvation Army in Canada. Ensuring impactful policy intelligence for executive decision-making across the Territory.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate policy research, legislative analysis, and issue monitoring
  • Provide timely, evidence-based insights and maintain systems for horizon scanning
  • Supervise and support Public Affairs Analysts
  • Review and ensure the quality and accuracy of briefing notes, reports, presentations, and other analytical outputs
  • Work with internal partners to support evidence-based messaging
  • Monitor emerging policy, political, and reputational risks and provide early analysis and strategic advice

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in public policy, advocacy, research, or government-related roles
  • At least 2 years’ experience managing staff, projects, or complex workstreams
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian public policy and government processes
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technology for research, communication, and reporting; bilingual English/French considered an asset.
