About the role

  • Semantic Automation Engineer at Schema App driving reliable data connectivity across business systems. Designing integrations, automating workflows, and transforming business data into a unified semantic layer.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify and prioritize opportunities to evolve existing systems through integration, automation, and improved data flow integrity
  • Partner with the Ontologist to model and transform business data into a unified semantic source of truth within the knowledge graph
  • Design and deploy robust integrations using a 'right tool for the job' approach—leveraging low-code platforms (e.g., Make.com, Zapier) for standard workflows and custom Python scripting for complex logic, data transformation, or non-standard API endpoints
  • Develop and consume RESTful or GraphQL APIs to bridge gaps between SaaS platforms and the knowledge graph
  • Build responsive, event-driven data flows that support real-time synchronization, minimizing latency and eliminating manual data entry across departmental silos
  • Ensure the reliable, bidirectional synchronization of key business entities (e.g., customers, addresses, transactions) across core systems, maintaining data accuracy and consistency

Requirements

  • Strong business analysis skills to translate stakeholder needs into scalable, semantic automation solutions
  • High attention to detail and a strong focus on data quality across customer, financial, and operational data
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders to evolve systems strategically
  • Hands-on experience with low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Make.com, Zapier)
  • Proficient in Python (specifically for data manipulation) to build custom middleware, automate ETL tasks, and interact with REST/GraphQL APIs independently
  • Working knowledge of RDF, OWL, and graph databases (preferably AWS Neptune)
  • Ability to design event-driven workflows and extend third-party platform capabilities (e.g., HubSpot, Stripe) using vendor toolkits and APIs
  • Proficient in applying AI tools (e.g., GPT, automation co-pilots) for data enrichment and transformation tasks

Benefits

  • Great benefits for health & wellness, and your coverage starts as soon as you do
  • RRSP matching
  • Flex days to re-energize on top of vacation days
  • You don’t work on your birthday
  • The Culture Club keeps our virtual team connected through fun and innovative events
