About the role

  • Project Manager delivering structural engineering solutions for various institutional, commercial, and residential projects at Sense Engineering. Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team focusing on design and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Play a pivotal role in delivering structural engineering solutions across various projects.
  • Focus on new and existing institutional, commercial and residential buildings.
  • Design new structures and evaluate existing structures.
  • Provide innovative solutions supporting our commitment to excellence.

  • Bring hands-on experience across all phases of project development from conception through construction.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets effectively for successful project delivery.
  • Conduct site reviews and contract administration inspections and provide guidance during construction.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure seamless communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within a structural engineering firm, preferably involving existing buildings and new construction of institutional, commercial and residential buildings.
  • Strong technical expertise in structural engineering and materials.
  • Registered or actively pursuing registration with the Association of Profession Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
  • Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., S-Frame, ETABS, spSlab) and familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Proven ability to apply project management principles, from strategic planning and budgeting to resource allocation and scope control.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills with a proven ability to build trust with clients and contractors.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset.
  • Team player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
