About the role
- Project Manager delivering structural engineering solutions for various institutional, commercial, and residential projects at Sense Engineering. Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team focusing on design and project management.
Responsibilities
- Play a pivotal role in delivering structural engineering solutions across various projects.
- Focus on new and existing institutional, commercial and residential buildings.
- Design new structures and evaluate existing structures.
- Provide innovative solutions supporting our commitment to excellence.

- Bring hands-on experience across all phases of project development from conception through construction.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets effectively for successful project delivery.
- Conduct site reviews and contract administration inspections and provide guidance during construction.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure seamless communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within a structural engineering firm, preferably involving existing buildings and new construction of institutional, commercial and residential buildings.
- Strong technical expertise in structural engineering and materials.
- Registered or actively pursuing registration with the Association of Profession Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
- Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., S-Frame, ETABS, spSlab) and familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit.
- Proven ability to apply project management principles, from strategic planning and budgeting to resource allocation and scope control.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills with a proven ability to build trust with clients and contractors.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset.
- Team player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
