Our top 5 banking client is looking for a Sr. Project Manager for a contract role in downtown Toronto, requiring 3 days/week onsite.
About the role
- Expert consultant in project management for STQ's project management unit. Supporting project structure, analysis, and management practices.
Responsibilities
- Act as a project management expert and provide specialized support to the Project Management Expertise Unit (UE) and STQ project managers.
- Contribute to the structuring, analysis and guidance of projects.
- Support the application of methodological practices and governance standards.
- Assist with the preparation of decision documents, analyses, tools and required deliverables.
- Serve as a primary point of contact between the PS and the STQ.
- Work autonomously while adhering to STQ’s strategic directions, processes and methodological standards.
- Be fluent in French, both written and spoken.
- Contribute to the planning, structuring and monitoring of ongoing projects.
- Support STQ in the analysis, evaluation and guidance of emerging projects whose parameters are not yet fully defined.
- Promote and support the application of project management best practices and methodological standards.
- Provide expert support that is adaptable and proportionate to the evolving STQ project portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, management, business administration or another relevant field.
- At least one (1) recognized project management certification (e.g., PMP®, PRINCE2® Practitioner or equivalent).
- At least one (1) recognized Agile certification (e.g., PMI‑ACP®, CSM®, PSM® or equivalent).
- Minimum seven (7) years of professional experience in project management.
- Demonstrated experience delivering at least three (3) organizational transformation and/or IT transformation projects in comparable contexts.
- Two (2) engagements totaling more than three (3) years of experience in public or para-public organizations or in highly regulated environments with comparable constraints (security, compliance, governance) in project management.
- Two (2) engagements totaling more than three (3) years of experience supporting a project with a budget over CAD 5 million.
