Career Specialist supporting Toronto job seekers facing employment barriers through Springboard's Integrated Employment Services program. Assessing clients, delivering job-readiness workshops, and driving sustainable employment outcomes.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive client assessments using the Common Assessment Tool (CAT)
Use motivational interviewing to identify barriers and create individualized Employment Action Plans
Connect clients with stabilization resources and appropriate services
Meet clients at least bi-weekly, prioritizing in-person meetings
Coordinate tailored employment strategies with internal teams
Support clients during employment activities such as interviews
Facilitate resume writing, interview preparation, job search, workplace expectations, and skills development workshops and sessions
Refer clients to community resources, certifications, and training programs
Collaborate with Employer Engagement and Retention Specialists
Follow up with clients and employers to support job retention and satisfaction
Coordinate accommodations, conflict resolution, and additional supports
Track retention metrics, feedback, satisfaction, Job Start, and retention KPIs
Maintain accurate case notes and client records
Prepare reports on client progress, job starts, and program outcomes
Collect Proof of Employment documentation and share confidential success stories
Plan, deliver, and evaluate accessible interactive workshops and group sessions
Participate in ongoing training and comply with workplace policies and dress code
Maintain on-camera presence during virtual meetings
Attend required in-office and offsite activities, travel within the GTA, and work evenings or weekends as needed
Perform additional tasks supporting organizational needs and program delivery
Requirements
Post-secondary diploma in social work, career development, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field
2+ years in employment counselling, case management, or workforce development
Proven ability to work with diverse populations and individuals facing employment barriers
Strong written and verbal communication
Proficiency in MS Office and case management systems
Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
Satisfactory VSS, references, and proof of education required for employment
Ability to work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility for evenings and weekends
Ability to work a hybrid model with at least three in-office days per week and additional onsite presence as required
Ability to travel within the GTA
Maintain an on-camera presence during virtual meetings
Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP), multilingual skills, knowledge of local labour markets, and First Aid/CPR certification are preferred
