About the role

  • Join Stantec as an Intermediate Environmental Planner/Project Manager in their Environmental Services practice. Manage environmental assessments and regulatory approvals for diverse infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project tasks and deliverables and assist with implementing the environmental assessment and permitting process as it applies to projects.
  • Communicate and liaise with a variety of project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, members of the public, and internal multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Write and coordinate proposals and reports tailored to specific project requirements.
  • Manage project tasks and deliverables related to environmental components and/or Provincial and Federal Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
  • Conduct desktop studies to support regulatory requirements for various assignments.
  • Develop and implement consultation programs with a focus on diverse stakeholders.
  • Communicate and liaise effectively with project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and the public.
  • Work with a group of professionals across Canada, focusing on environmental assessments, permitting and regulatory compliance.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills
  • Proven project management skills, delivering quality results on time and within budget
  • Self-motivated with excellent technical writing and public speaking skills
  • Previous experience undertaking environmental assessments, such as the Class EA process
  • A university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field is required.
  • 5-10 years of experience in environmental program and project development, implementation, and management, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience in undertaking Class EA process, environmental impact assessments, environmental programs, environmental compliance, and/or coordinating the acquisition of permits and approvals.
