About the role
- Solutions Design IT Specialist leading Java enterprise application strategy, Agile delivery, and enterprise application health. Supporting TD bank’s security, modernization, compliance, and production operations.
Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of applications, including health, performance, upgrades, and documentation
- Align application roadmaps with enterprise goals
- Identify modernization and cost optimization opportunities
- Lead Agile teams, manage sprints and releases, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery
- Perform resource management and conflict management
- Track budgets, forecasts, resource allocation, and vendor contracts
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance with security, regulatory, and DR/OSFI standards
- Ensure SLAs are met and oversee incident resolution
- Maintain production health through monitoring tools
- Coach, mentor, and develop junior staff and peers
- Lead diverse, cross-functional teams across geographies and time zones
- Engage with internal and external auditors and manage security remediation
- Participate in regular career, development, and performance conversations with a manager
Requirements
- 10+ years of total experience
- Strong experience in solution designing
- Strong technology background as a full-stack developer, primarily Java
- Exceptional experience building large-scale enterprise applications
- Experience with strategic planning and technology roadmap alignment
- Experience with Agile delivery, sprint and release management, budgeting, resource planning, and vendor oversight
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, business-focused language for senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing junior staff and peers in technical and soft skill areas
- Ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams across geographies and time zones
- Experience engaging with internal and external auditors
- Experience responding to security findings, developing remediation plans, and ensuring timely issue closure
- Understanding of enterprise security controls, including data encryption and access management
- Subject to provincial regulation for employment purposes in Canada
