About the role
- Automation Engineer responsible for automated test frameworks and integration in continuous delivery pipeline at TELUS Digital. Collaborating with teams to ensure high software quality.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for web and mobile applications using tools like Selenium/Playwright/Cypress.
- Develop and execute automated UI, API, and functional test scripts to identify defects early in the development lifecycle.
- Integrate automated tests into Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD pipelines to provide rapid feedback to developers.
- Partner with developers and product managers in an Agile/Scrum environment to understand requirements and define test coverage.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and document bugs using tracking tools like JIRA.
- Regularly update and optimize existing test suites to keep pace with new feature development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in software automation testing.
- Proficiency in at least one language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Extensive experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Rest-Assured) and version control (e.g., Git).
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern QA methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a bonus.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or K6 is a bonus.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a bonus.
