About the role

  • Engineering Manager leading a full-stack team to develop the Console and associated tools for Tiger Data. Overseeing team growth, direction, and engineering culture in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, grow, and mentor a team of engineers, owning hiring, performance management, career development, and team health.
  • Own the Console end to end — the UI customers use to operate the platform, including observability, user management, and developer-experience features such as chunk-size optimization and other cloud-only capabilities.
  • Own the strategy and delivery of developer tooling alongside the Console, including the Tiger CLI and MCP integrations.
  • Own billing end to end, from the underlying services through the customer-facing experience.
  • Set technical direction across a predominantly JavaScript and Go stack, balancing speed of delivery, polish, and long-term maintainability.
  • Establish engineering practices, conventions, and culture for a team that is actively reorganizing and ramping up execution, and help drive the broader organizational change.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and other engineering leaders to turn a roadmap into shipped, polished features.
  • Be an enthusiastic and personable leader who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and write code

Requirements

  • 8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineers or engineering teams.
  • A track record of building and leading high-performing full-stack teams that ship customer-facing products.
  • Strong technical depth with hands-on experience in JavaScript and modern frontend, plus Go (or comparable backend) services.
  • Experience owning complex, customer-facing domains end to end — ideally including billing, observability, user/account management, or developer-experience tooling.
  • A proven ability to set culture, standards, and direction during periods of growth or reorganization, and to push a team to execute.
  • Strong product sense and the judgment to balance polish, velocity, and reliability.
  • Passion for building experiences developers love, and for developing the people who build them.
  • Bonus: experience with CLIs, MCP, or building tooling for technical/developer audiences.
