About the role

  • Project Coordinator at the University of Alberta coordinating a medical education initiative on cell therapies for Type 1 Diabetes. Bridging clinical experts and instructional designers for curriculum development.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate meetings for the International Advisory Committee; prepare briefing notes and track decision-making logs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external partners and internal UofA departments.
  • Identify and develop internal processes for quality control, medical accuracy reviews, and program rigour.
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and honoraria processing for international medical experts.
  • Work closely with the Learning Design Studio to move content from drafts and storyboards to final media production.
  • Facilitate the consultation process with the T1D Patient Circle to ensure lived-experience integration.
  • Monitor expenditures against the grant budget, specifically tracking media production costs and SME honoraria.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for the Principal Investigator to support decision making regarding project scale and sustainability.
  • Navigate UofA IT and Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) requirements for the chosen Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Manage project-related contracts, agreements and invoices, tracking them against the Breakthrough T1D budget, and ensuring compliance with UofA financial policies.
  • Recruit and manage a pilot group of endocrinology trainees and clinicians for user-acceptance testing.
  • Oversee the development of the external gateway (website/portal) and marketing materials for the program launch.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in project coordination, preferably within a university or healthcare research setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Education, Communications, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and the SCORM standard is an asset.
  • Exceptional communication skills to manage busy clinicians and international experts across time zones.
