About the role

  • Project Coordinator managing Finding Balance program at the Injury Prevention Centre in Edmonton, AB. Focus on prevention of fall injuries in older adults through leadership and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resource development or revisions for the fall prevention program and campaign.
  • Coordinate educational opportunities on fall prevention for stakeholders, practitioners, and older adults such as Practitioners Day and webinars.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with key fall prevention partners, stakeholders, and sponsors.
  • Develop and coordinate the Finding Balance Falls Prevention Newsletter (4x annually), including article collection and writing, editing, and distribution.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in committees, task groups, and teams as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and chair the Finding Balance Steering Committee and support intermediaries, sponsors, and partners.
  • Establish and maintain knowledge and awareness of current fall prevention programs and resources.
  • May be required to assist with other Centre programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Promotion, Public Health, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • Ability to public speak, and facilitate meetings, workshops, and webinars.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Additional training in injury prevention, fall prevention, and adult education would be considered an asset.
