About the role

  • Head of HR leading people operations, compliance, compensation, and employee relations for Willow. Supporting a global workforce at a personalized telehealth cosmetic weight-loss company.

Responsibilities

  • Own the HR stack and employee lifecycle from offer acceptance through offboarding
  • Maintain clean, audit-ready employee records, contracts, and documentation across employment types and geographies
  • Handle sensitive employee relations matters including investigations, disputes, accommodations, and terminations
  • Coach managers to prevent escalation of employee relations issues
  • Own compensation philosophy, banding, benchmarking, and benefits programs
  • Coordinate compensation decisions, payroll, headcount planning, and compensation changes with finance
  • Design and run a lightweight performance management system covering goals, feedback, reviews, and calibration
  • Own employment law compliance across states and countries where workers are located
  • Partner with recruiting on offer strategy, hiring compliance, interview practices, onboarding, and hiring manager coaching
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and advise on retention strategy and employee experience
  • Manage and develop the People team
  • Advise the COO and founders on organizational design, personnel matters, and people risk

Requirements

  • 8+ years in HR with at least 3 leading an HR function or major pillar at a company of comparable scale (roughly 150 to 500 people), ideally through a phase of rapid growth
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling HR operations for both US-based employees and global workforce
  • Deep employee relations experience, including personally handling investigations, terminations, and leadership-level personnel matters
  • Strong employment compliance experience, ideally with multi-state experience; healthcare, telehealth, or another regulated industry is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with compensation banding, benchmarking, and offer design
  • Comfortable working closely with finance on payroll, headcount planning, and compensation changes
  • Comfortable being the most senior HR person in the company and making judgment calls independently
  • High discretion with confidential matters
  • Direct, clear communication and ability to document decisions and provide independent counsel
  • Willingness/ability to work in the United States or Canada as specified by the listed remote locations
