About the role

  • Senior Communications Manager shaping 1Password’s cybersecurity, identity, and AI narratives. Building media, executive, event, and rapid-response communications for technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen 1Password’s position as a trusted authority for identities, credentials, and access
  • Shape narratives about identity and access management, unified access, and AI’s role in the future of security
  • Build trust with developer, business, and security audiences through media relations, contributed content, events, speaking engagements, and rapid response
  • Build media strategies and maintain journalist relationships
  • Support executive and technical spokespeople
  • Develop press releases, contributed articles, blog posts, executive communications, media materials, and other content
  • Develop media and speaking strategies for major industry events including RSA Conference, Black Hat, and Infosecurity Europe
  • Coordinate briefings and interviews, support speaker preparation, and provide on-site communications support
  • Monitor cybersecurity, identity, AI, and technology developments
  • Develop rapid-response plans and coordinate internal input
  • Set communications goals and monitor coverage, message adoption, and audience engagement
  • Use insights to refine strategy and prioritize future work
  • Report to the Director of Communications

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in communications, PR, or marketing in B2B technology
  • Cybersecurity, AI, or developer-focused experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of cybersecurity, identity and access management, credential security, AI agents, and developer workflows
  • Ability to explain authentication, authorization, credential use, and accountability as organizations adopt new technologies
  • Established relationships with security, technology, business, and developer media
  • Experience partnering with executive and technical spokespeople
  • Ability to develop communications strategies tied to business priorities
  • Ability to translate complex topics into clear, credible content for technical and business audiences
  • Ability to collaborate with marketing, product, engineering, security, legal, sales, executive teams, and external agency partners
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, make sound decisions, communicate tradeoffs, and follow through
  • Ability to use AI without outsourcing strategic thinking or editorial judgment
  • Must already be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada; no work authorization, relocation assistance, or sponsorship/transferring of a visa provided
  • Successful applicants must complete a background check
