About the role

  • ST-Engineer, Production assisting with safety and quality improvements in pharmaceutical manufacturing at Apotex. Collaborating with teams to enhance efficiency and compliance in Etobicoke.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with improvements to production safety, quality, capacity, reliability, cost per 1000 dosages, customer service, and regulatory compliance in the Production department.
  • Work closely with Production Technicians and the Production Technical team to understand and analyze production processes and equipment in order to make continuous improvements focusing on Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Manage resources to complete projects on schedule and create contingency plans to ensure minimal production impact.
  • Liaise regularly with Production Operations, Engineering, and Quality Assurance and SHE group to coordinate project activities.
  • Follow Change Control requirement, coordinate the installation and commissioning of production equipment, including completing equipment installation and operational qualifications (IQ/OQs).
  • Seek out issues and recommend solutions for improvements in production processes, reliability and compliance.
  • Generate maintenance and operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), SOPs and Safety Standards.
  • Collaborate as a team member to achieve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary Co-op education program.
  • Preferred School and Programs: University of Toronto, Ryerson, Humber College (Engineering, Sciences or related technical field).
  • Ability to work within a team environment (as part of a team).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Successful completion of third year in Engineering, Sciences or related technical field.
  • Experience in coordinating project activities is considered an asset.
