About the role

  • Assistant Project Manager managing daily operations of construction projects in Canada. Collaborating with teams to deliver projects successfully while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing and maintaining Preconstruction in Progress (PIP) documentation
  • Support preconstruction planning activities such as look-ahead schedules and HSE planning
  • Assist with pricing and processing change orders and tracking RFIs
  • Coordinate and review shop drawings and ensure timely approvals
  • Support communication and coordination with sub-trades and suppliers
  • Maintain and update project budget, schedule, and cost reports
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including final reports and resolution of outstanding costs

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Eligible for, or in possession of, a P. Eng., EIT, CET, or PQS designation
  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in construction management
  • Demonstrated experience within institutional and commercial construction environments
  • Proven competency in safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality, and project administration
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules
  • Experience with Viewpoint Project Management software is considered an asset
