About the role
- Senior Systems Engineer responsible for maintaining and securing Linux and AWS infrastructure for digital solutions consultancy Bounteous. Focused on automation, security, and collaboration with development teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support primarily Linux-based server and AWS infrastructure, ensuring availability, performance and reliability.
- Monitor systems, respond to alerts and incidents, and participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation.
- Perform security and maintenance activities including patching, upgrades and hardening.
- Develop and maintain automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployments and operational tasks.
- Work closely with developers and client teams to troubleshoot issues and support releases.
- Maintain documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (mandatory).
- Strong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Linux production environments.
- Strong experience designing, operating and supporting AWS infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting and investigation skills, including root-cause analysis.
- Experience supporting Magento platforms running on Apache and PHP.
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with GitHub.
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk.
- Experience working with ITSM / ticketing tools such as ServiceNow for incident, change and request management.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Able to work independently and handle production issues under pressure.
- Team-oriented and willing to support other team members.
- Willing to participate in on-call rotation and late-night deployments.
