About the role

  • Program Manager overseeing operations and clinical delivery for RAAM Clinic. Leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring quality care in community mental health and addictions services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and leadership to a RAAM MDT of clinical staff responsible for the delivery of support and services to clients and their families.
  • Work with the Director to set program goals using a Balanced Scorecard of priorities and targets and deliver on priorities in consultation with the team, community partners and other CMHA Peel Dufferin services.
  • Use clinical judgement and expertise to navigate clinical matters and ensure optimal client care and provider experience by supporting staff in prioritizing client issues and tasks as needed.
  • Advance clinical and administrative quality of RAAM by tracking service quality indicators and targets.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision to staff.
  • Observe staff with clients and conduct regular audits, supervision, and support professional development.
  • Manage the planning and monitoring of staff schedules, and workloads to ensure adequate coverage to meet operational requirements, across all sites.
  • Coordinate agenda for weekly clinical meetings, including planning, chairing, and following up with actions as appropriate.
  • Support team members in case conferences, including planning, chairing, and following up with actions as necessary.
  • Respond to client complaints and consult with the Director on the resolution of issues.
  • Ensure that clinical records and program data are maintained in accordance with the standards of CMHA Peel Dufferin and funders.
  • Escalate staff and clinical issues to the Director, as appropriate.
  • In collaboration with RAAM administrator, support with harm reduction supplies.
  • Promote RAAM services with community partners, and within marginalized populations, including those experiencing homelessness, mental health concerns, and addictions.
  • Support the development of operational budgets including financial and human resource requirements.
  • Monitor assigned budgets and expenditures in accordance with organizational financial policies.
  • Manage recruitment, orientation, coaching, mentoring, performance management, learning and development for staff and students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; (Master’s degree is an asset).
  • Registration with a Professional College.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience within the community mental health & addictions field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of formal or informal leadership experience, including supervising a multidisciplinary team, program development and day-to-day operations.
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation, serious mental illness, concurrent disorders and/or dual diagnosis and recovery-based philosophy and practices.
  • Additional certifications in addictions, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of substance uses and harm reduction philosophy.
  • Knowledge of local resources and programs within the community to support clients with addiction.
  • Being knowledgeable in a variety of evidence-informed treatment modalities.
  • Fluency in a second language, including ASL (American Sign Language) is considered an asset.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and access to an insured automobile in good repair.
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report.
