About the role

  • Technical Artist at Compulsion Games supporting various art and technical activities. Building bridges between tools and the engine while mentoring art teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support and participate in various technical and art activities
  • Build bridges between DCCs and the Engine
  • Implement data validation and explore new workflows enabled by the latest version of Unreal
  • Provide advice and support to different art teams (Environment, characters, VFX, lighting)
  • Understand common technical challenges and adapt your team to each project phase
  • Maintain a maintainable and readable technical work (code/node graphs)

Requirements

  • Some experience working in Games
  • Experience with Unreal Engine is preferable
  • Experience with optimization (shaders, materials, data) is preferable
  • Some experience with DCCs (Maya, Blender, Substance) and Profilers (Unreal Insight, Pix, renderdoc, etc) is a nice to have
  • Strong fundamental skills like color theory, timing, composition, balance, and secondary action
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of artists, designers, and animators
