About the role

  • Regional Sales Manager leading Robertson metal-building sales across Canada and the USA. Driving growth, pricing, customer experience, and sales-team performance for Cornerstone Building Brands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of sales professionals within the Metal Solutions business unit serving Robertson customers in Canada and the USA
  • Drive sales strategies to grow share across Complex Metal Buildings, Simple Metal Buildings, and Commercial Components
  • Work closely with functional support teams to execute the customer-experience value proposition
  • Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, Engineering, Business Development, Marketing, Sourcing/Procurement, Sales Operations, Vendor Relations, and executive leadership
  • Coach, develop, train, professionalize, and grow the Robertson sales teams
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, consult with target customers, understand needs, and identify suitable products, equipment, or services
  • Organize and oversee sales professionals’ schedules, territories, and performance
  • Collaborate with business leaders in the US and Canada and maintain close connection with the President of the Canadian business segment
  • Execute pricing strategy with the pricing team and deliver profitability targets while balancing volume growth
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze sales scorecards and KPIs, including backlog, bid activity, product type, profit, revenue, win/loss rate, and lead conversion
  • Produce and deliver insights for Monthly Operating Reviews and other presentations
  • Partner with the plant network to drive customer experience, volume growth, and revenue growth
  • Assess operational barriers, resource needs, and growth opportunities
  • Partner with the VP of Sales to identify M&A targets and develop integration strategies
  • Collaborate with Marketing on branding and product placement for local markets and digital sites
  • Drive integration and act as a culture carrier during expansive M&A
  • Represent the company with industry organizations and trade associations/shows as needed
  • Resolve customer quality issues with Field Services, plants, and branches and address root causes
  • Perform other activities and projects as assigned or required

Requirements

  • Must be a data-driven, critical thinker capable of managing multiple data streams and managing the near-term market while building longer-term strategies
  • Proven leadership, influence, and collaboration in a matrixed organization
  • Strong understanding of sales and building materials economic drivers with the ability to leverage those insights into results
  • Must be willing to have professionally challenging conversations that are productive not destructive
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% and spend time in the Robertson office in Brantford, ON
  • Self starter that acts with urgency and care
  • Savvy negotiator
  • CRM proficiency – Microsoft Dynamics preferred
  • Highly skilled at building and interpreting analytics models to drive insights and actions
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality
  • Highly accountable to multiple stakeholders
  • Skilled at simplifying the complex and influencing in a cross functional, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Outcome-driven orientation with a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a high-performing team
  • 10+ years in sales with at least 5 years of sales leadership or general management, ideally in building products
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA degree or equivalent preferred
  • Executive presence; must possess confidence and assertiveness in actions and idea sharing
  • Critical and strategic thinker who can manage the big picture and more granular details
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and influence change organizationally and within cross functional teams
  • Exceptional organization skills with ability to prioritize and execute in a timely manner
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting pricing concepts and data in a simplified manner
