About the role

  • Business Development Manager growing DSV’s road transport and logistics sales in Brampton. Managing complex accounts, new business opportunities, pricing, CRM data, and customer solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales growth targets and execute strategic priorities within the Canadian organization
  • Maintain existing and onboarded complex accounts in alignment with DSV’s Sales Process
  • Achieve sales plan objectives with assigned clients, new targets, and complex prospects by selling DSV products and solutions
  • Align Product, Sales, and Operations throughout all phases of the sales cycle
  • Develop end-to-end, value-added solutions with significant potential
  • Identify new business opportunities and cross-selling opportunities
  • Identify market trends and competitive rate actions and communicate them to product and management teams
  • Create and maintain client lifecycle programs for top clients
  • Develop understanding of target customers, account bases, commodities, trade lanes, contracts, and service requirements
  • Assist with RFQs and bids and understand pricing and cost components
  • Identify competitive service strengths and weaknesses and recommend improvements
  • Provide weekly and monthly performance metrics to the sales administrator
  • Conduct sales presentations, develop deliverables, coordinate implementation, and update marketing materials
  • Enter and maintain customer and sales data in the CRM
  • Meet product-specific volume and revenue requirements
  • Manage time and sales territory to achieve weekly sales-call targets
  • Respond effectively and promptly to sales leads and key correspondence
  • Manage expenses and company assets according to DSV guidelines
  • Ensure adherence to the DSV Global Sales Process
  • Support ISO 9001 and quality, health, safety, environmental, and sustainability objectives

Requirements

  • Education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience
  • Minimum 2 years of account management experience
  • CIFFA certificate is an asset
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Ability to create collaborative engagements and actively listen
  • Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to multitask, plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Understanding of business principles, finance, and profitability
  • Business administration competence
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Proficiency in CRM tools
  • CargoWise experience is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment
  • Regular working hours apply; additional hours may be required by business needs
