About the role

  • Client Relationship Manager helping young Canadian entrepreneurs prepare viable funding applications. Reviewing financials, coaching applicants, and coordinating adjudication and loan disbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct summary reviews of entrepreneur applications, including business plans and cash flow, to determine eligibility for programs and funding
  • Communicate potential eligibility issues involving business plans, industries, timing, and other factors
  • Analyze credit reports to determine financing qualification
  • Determine funding limits, communicate credit issues, and refer entrepreneurs to credit improvement supports
  • Review applications to assess business viability and help entrepreneurs meet application standards
  • Evaluate submissions and provide feedback and coaching to develop viable business plans and cash flows
  • Compile and evaluate additional documentation for complete applications to National Adjudication
  • Summarize pertinent information affecting adjudication reviews
  • Evaluate workflow and predict likely disbursement months or dates
  • Answer application-related questions and review partner-submitted applications
  • Support partners in understanding application expectations, documents, and timelines
  • Train partners on program details and quality application submissions
  • Prepare and communicate program acceptance and outstanding disbursement conditions
  • Ensure mentor matching requests are sent to the mentoring specialist’s team
  • Collect and evaluate conditional documents
  • Prepare, sign, and submit loan agreements, promissory notes, and other legal documents
  • Communicate with compliance teams, applicants, and mentors to ensure loan disbursement
  • Work with adjudication, entrepreneur-in-residence, and loans teams to ensure eligibility compliance
  • Consult with business development on strategies to increase mentor and entrepreneur interest
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Relevant experience may include education with a focus on Business Administration/Finance or equivalent hands-on career experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in a client support/client relation, financial/economic or banking role
  • Strong customer service experience with a desire to support the customer
  • Strong expertise in financial analysis
  • Exemplary skills in achieving organizational goals
  • Proactive approach to conflict resolution
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Clear and confident communicator, skilled at engaging and connecting with diverse audiences
  • Collaborative and adaptable team player, bringing a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong organizational skills, able to balance multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic hybrid work environment
  • Demonstrate curiosity and a growth mindset, embracing and championing change
  • Bilingualism in French & English (spoken & written) is an asset
