Emergency response supervisor overseeing crews, routing, safety, and customer service for GFL Environmental. Managing compliance, paperwork, dispatch, and remediation operations across Ontario locations.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations and coordinate crews
Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and applicable laws
Provide daily leadership and direction to employees
Develop and review routes to company standards
Maintain daily reports, purchase orders, and filing
Manage and attend Health and Safety meetings and train employees on safety issues
Schedule service and accommodate customer service changes
Dispatch crews for projects and demands
Perform end-of-day driver check-ins and verify paperwork
Distribute, collect, and review daily reports for accurate data entry
Coordinate with other departments to resolve service issues
Review daily paperwork and bill completed work orders
Process purchase orders for location payables
Interact with customers, customer service, sales, and operations staff
Work with routing specialists to optimize routes
Handle incoming customer calls and emails
Manage customer complaints and concerns
Supervise HR concerns involving discipline, vacations, and WSIB
Assist with business plans for tenders and new business ventures
Attend meetings as required
Perform other duties as directed or required
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Requirements
Minimum DZ license
Minimum 4 years in a supervisor role along with spill response clean up and remediation
Experience and strong knowledge with excavation equipment
NFPA 472
Confined Space Entry & Rescue
SVOP Certificate
MEDA3 Certificate
WSIB and First Aid certified training certificates
Excellent operating knowledge of company equipment, including Vacuum Tankers, Powervacs, Hydrovacs, and Roll off Trucks
Strong knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act and OH&S Act
WHMIS training
Experience using MS Word and Excel
Strong leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and execute
Strong computer skills
Excellent team player with ability to listen, analyze, and adapt to change
Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
