About the role
- Payroll Analyst managing payroll processing for Canadian employee groups across multiple provinces. Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and responding to employee inquiries regarding pay and deductions.
Responsibilities
- Process accurate, timely payroll for assigned employee groups across multiple provinces
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records in the HRIS system, ensuring data integrity and timely updates
- Apply knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation to daily processing
- Respond professionally to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax matters
- Generate standard payroll reports for HR and Finance teams
Requirements
- 2+ years of Canadian payroll experience with hands-on processing responsibilities
- Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, HR, or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and payroll experience
- Solid understanding of Canadian payroll fundamentals including CPP, EI, income tax, vacation pay, and statutory holidays
- Experience with payroll/HRIS systems (ADP, Ceridian, Workday, or similar)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
