About the role

  • Vice President expanding Kye Pharmaceuticals’ Canadian medicines portfolio through licensing, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. Leading valuation, negotiations, diligence, and alliance management.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities aligned with Kye’s core objectives
  • Develop assessments and partner with senior leadership to lead and close negotiations
  • Source, evaluate, and execute product licensing, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships with international and domestic pharmaceutical companies
  • Lead financial modeling, valuation, and complex contract negotiations with rigorous business and legal oversight
  • Coordinate internal diligence across regulatory, scientific, legal, finance, and commercial teams
  • Oversee post-transaction integration and manage ongoing partner relationships to ensure committed value is delivered
  • Track competitor deal activity, market trends, and therapeutic portfolio gaps to inform executive strategy
  • Lead comprehensive risk-assessment processes covering intellectual property, regulatory viability, and manufacturing scale-up potential
  • Report to the CEO
  • Grow the portfolio of licensed and acquired medicines to enhance customer and enterprise value

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive business development or corporate development experience within the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or business discipline
  • Demonstrated success sourcing, negotiating, and closing high-value commercial or clinical-stage licensing and acquisition deals
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Strategic analytical thinking
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with datasets used to develop market assessments
  • Strong technical capability to perform related data queries and associated analytics
  • Strong scientific background
  • Deep knowledge of Canadian industry trends
  • Established international network within the pharmaceutical business development sector
  • Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Toronto/GTA-based
  • Ability to work in a hybrid office/home-based arrangement
