About the role

  • HR Specialist supporting employee lifecycle, HR operations, and people programs at LumiQ. Helping an audio-first professional education platform scale its growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Support managers with day-to-day People questions and help navigate HR policies and processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline People processes, documentation, and the employee experience
  • Support the development, implementation, and administration of People policies and programs
  • Support onboarding and offboarding team members
  • Manage employee data, records, and the UKG HRIS
  • Work with payroll on semi-monthly information for hires, departures, leaves, deductions, compensation, and time off
  • Administer Canadian and US benefits, including RRSP and 401k deductions and contributions
  • Partner on quarterly people KPIs and reporting
  • Prepare monthly People reporting, including headcount, turnover, hires, and departures
  • Administer engagement surveys and HR programs such as review cycles
  • Manage Leave of Absence processes and documentation
  • Support, plan, and coordinate company-wide All Hands meetings
  • Partner on company events, socials, lunch and learns, office management, and engagement programs
  • Respond to employee questions and provide guidance on HR processes and programs
  • Partner with the Senior Director of People Ops on employee relations, compensation, learning and development, and other People initiatives
  • Provide backup support for recruitment and onboarding activities

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a similar role
  • Working towards a CHRP designation or equivalent
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive approach and initiative
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with an HRIS or other HR technology is an asset
  • For candidates at the Generalist level, experience independently owning HR processes and supporting managers with day-to-day People matters is an asset
