Project Specialist in Nuclear & Space managing customer orders' pre-production, scheduling, and shipment coordination. Ensuring on-time delivery and quality performance for complex projects across teams.
Responsibilities
Analyze nuclear customer purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
Review PO, ensure it matches original quote and escalate issues to team
Assess non-standard, technical terms and conditions, documenting them in the traveler and communicating to the team for resolution
Determine requirements in customer and applicable standards (Ex. CSA, ASTM, etc) and translate to internal deliverables
Analyze requirements in traveler, customer documents, international standards and specifications and related documents
Provides oversight for pre-production technical documents: technical drawings, technical data sheets, concession applications, project schedule (if required) and ITPs; ensure timely completion, submission and internal/external approval
Analyze technical requirements from order traveler/ITP coordinate execution
Chair recurring meetings with customer and internal stakeholders
Develop, maintain and control schedule for umbilical order execution
Chair recurring complex project update meetings with all internal stakeholders to discuss priorities, risks and mitigation plan
Chair recurring project update meeting with external stakeholders (customers) and publish reports for external distributions.
Develop and manage project schedules for key orders
Identify project risks and take appropriate action to minimize potential delays, cost overruns or quality issues
Provide guidance based on understanding of critical quality standards (ISO, Z299/N299, NQA-1) and related customer specifications
Act as project single point of contact for external and internal stakeholders and develop understanding of unique customer requirements and processes
Support Sales and Product Engineering in developing project proposals by completing quote and order travelers, creating schedules, gathering pricing for outside services, identifying non-standard requirements and other activities as required
Requirements
College diploma (3 years) in manufacturing, technology, or project management; university degree preferred.
3–5 years of relevant experience; 5–7 years preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of project management experience required.
Experience in manufacturing and technical environments.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Advanced computer proficiency; macro/VBA or programming experience is an asset.
Experience in technical writing (e.g., work instructions, data sheets, customer documentation).
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Familiarity with production scheduling, procurement, and project management processes.
Working knowledge of standards such as UL, CSA, and customer-specific specifications.
Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001, CSA N299, or AS9100.
Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels, including production, engineering, and leadership teams.
