Responsibilities
Create industry-leading, high-quality 3D characters that balance visual fidelity, performance, and gameplay requirements.
Work closely with Art Directors and Project Leads to establish and implement an artistic vision across projects.
Mentor and support internal and external character artists, providing thoughtful, constructive feedback.
Collaborate with outsourcing and production teams to plan, track, and integrate character assets on schedule.
Oversee the quality and consistency of all character-related content, ensuring compliance with PCF artistic standards.
Contribute to documentation, tutorials, and best practices that improve the team's collective skills.
Research and adopt new techniques and workflows to continuously improve the artistic quality of characters.
Import assets directly into the game engine and collaborate to resolve technical or artistic challenges.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience as a 3D character artist in the video game industry.
Experience delivering at least one AAA title from start to finish.
Strong foundation in traditional art: anatomy, proportions, composition, and color theory.
Advanced proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, and Substance Painter/Designer (Mari, Houdini, Unreal or Unity are a plus).
Solid understanding of game production pipelines, including high/low resolution modeling, physically based rendering materials, UV layouts, and optimization.
Ability to solve complex artistic and technical challenges collaboratively and independently.
Excellent communication, organizational skills, and priority management.
