About the role

  • 3D Character Artist creating and overseeing high-quality characters for AAA games. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure artistic and technical standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Create industry-leading, high-quality 3D characters that balance visual fidelity, performance, and gameplay requirements.
  • Work closely with Art Directors and Project Leads to establish and implement an artistic vision across projects.
  • Mentor and support internal and external character artists, providing thoughtful, constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with outsourcing and production teams to plan, track, and integrate character assets on schedule.
  • Oversee the quality and consistency of all character-related content, ensuring compliance with PCF artistic standards.
  • Contribute to documentation, tutorials, and best practices that improve the team's collective skills.
  • Research and adopt new techniques and workflows to continuously improve the artistic quality of characters.
  • Import assets directly into the game engine and collaborate to resolve technical or artistic challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a 3D character artist in the video game industry.
  • Experience delivering at least one AAA title from start to finish.
  • Strong foundation in traditional art: anatomy, proportions, composition, and color theory.
  • Advanced proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, and Substance Painter/Designer (Mari, Houdini, Unreal or Unity are a plus).
  • Solid understanding of game production pipelines, including high/low resolution modeling, physically based rendering materials, UV layouts, and optimization.
  • Ability to solve complex artistic and technical challenges collaboratively and independently.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and priority management.
  • Genuine passion for video games, continuous learning, and creative excellence.
