About the role
- Instructional Designer creating ILT, e-learning, and performance-support materials for PLATO, Canada’s Indigenous-owned technology services company. Supporting public-sector transformation and user adoption.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop learner-centered training deliverables, including ILT materials, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, user guides, and e-Learning modules
- Apply instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles
- Develop interactive e-Learning solutions using authoring platforms
- Conduct training needs analysis and collaborate with SMEs, project teams, and business stakeholders
- Create scenario-based learning, simulations, and performance support tools
- Align training materials with Federal and public sector standards, policies, terminology, accessibility requirements, and compliance obligations
- Partner with Change Management and Communications teams
- Review and quality-assure training materials
- Develop and track training metrics, learner feedback, and effectiveness measures
- Leverage Microsoft Copilot, AI writing assistants, voiceover generators, and content creation platforms
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Instructional Design, Training Development, and Training Needs Analysis supporting business and technology transformation initiatives
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
- Experience developing Instructor-Led Training and e-Learning solutions
- Proficiency with Articulate Rise 360, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar authoring tools
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Learning Management Systems, and Microsoft Forms
- Experience using Power BI and/or Excel for training effectiveness measurement, learner feedback analysis, and reporting
- Experience leveraging Microsoft Copilot and other AI-enabled content creation tools
- Ability to translate complex business processes, system changes, and technical concepts into clear learning materials
- Strong communication, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced project environment
- Federal Government or public sector training experience is an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset but not required
- Reliability Security Clearance or higher required at time of application
