About the role
- Senior Software Engineer building and maintaining OpenShift applications for RBC, Canada’s largest bank. Supporting data transformation, scalable services, production reliability, and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications and services critical to data transformation operations
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions
- Implement best practices for application security, performance, and scalability
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure high availability of critical services
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tooling
- Document technical designs, configurations, and operational procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
- Proven experience deploying and managing applications on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
- Strong software development skills in modern programming languages
- Experience building and maintaining production applications in team environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members from diverse technical backgrounds
- Understanding of containerization technologies, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices
- Experience with data transformation pipelines and ETL processes (nice to have)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (nice to have)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation frameworks (nice to have)
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (nice to have)
