About the role

  • Project Coordinator managing Landlord and Tenant construction projects at RioCan. Collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders while ensuring projects stay on track.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager and Sr. Project Manager in planning, organizing, and executing projects from start to finish across the Western Canada portfolio;
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders; Asset Management, Property Management, Leasing, Procurement, Contractors, Consultants, Designers, Architects, Municipalities and Tenants on various projects;
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports including but not limited to; quarterly accruals, Monthly/quarterly forecasts, PSR (Project Status Report Updates);
  • Review Offers to Lease and Lease Agreements to ensure projects are supporting RioCan’s obligations;
  • Prepare and present construction budgets;
  • Assist with procurement of services including preparing scopes of work, bid review, selection of contractors, contract preparation and acquisition of contractor documentation;
  • Management of multiple projects, including but not limited to; visiting sites to ensure projects stay on time and on budget, contract administration, issuance of necessary change orders and budget revisions;

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma in relevant field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum two (2) years of related work experience in the construction industry providing administrative and project coordination support;
  • Thorough understanding of commercial retail construction, building systems and technology, industry practices, estimating/budgeting, and scheduling;
  • Experience reading blueprints and interpreting building codes and municipal requirements;
  • Experience in budget forecasting, spreadsheet development, troubleshooting, project planning, and accounting;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
  • Understanding of Landlord and Tenant relationships, with knowledge of related agreements;
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate and report accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Proven critical thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team and corporate environment;
  • Experience with Yardi ERP system is considered an asset.
