Payroll Specialist managing multi-entity payroll operations across Canada and the United States for Volatus Aerospace. Ensuring compliance and accuracy in payroll processing within a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end payroll process for assigned employee groups across Canada and the United States
Review and process payroll transactions related to hiring, compensation changes, variable pay, commissions, allowances, statutory leaves, terminations, final pay, and benefit or other deductions
Manage the day-to-day administration of the Company’s stock option and RSU programs, including recordkeeping, vesting, compliance, and related payroll taxation and reporting
Reconcile payroll registers, remittances, tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and general payroll reports
Support cross-border payroll administration by ensuring payroll inputs and employee data are correctly maintained for multiple jurisdictions
Prepare payroll-related documentation and filings, including Records of Employment, year-end slips and summaries, audit support, and other payroll compliance materials
Requirements
3–5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-jurisdiction environment
Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll, including applicable payroll legislation, statutory deductions, and compliance requirements
Experience processing U.S. payroll
Exposure to UK and/or European payroll is considered an asset
Hands-on experience with Dayforce is preferred; experience with BambooHR or other HRIS/payroll systems is also required
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
